F-11 Photographic | Photos for Kids Program

F-11 Photo is proud to announce the return of its Photography for Kids program! This summer we welcome kids who want to be more active and creative with photography, regardless of their current skills. Kids will practice turning their ideas into images and learning how to “see” photographs before taking them. Topics covered will include composition, posing, lighting, perspective, cropping and subject matter. We will look at images from famous photographers, journal about images and have class critiques of work. Kids will learn to express their ideas by taking pictures of important part of their lives like family, pets and the environment. The class will also take field trips in the downtown area to find interesting subjects and to implement concepts or techniques discussed.

Class dates are Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24 and 26. Eight to ten year olds will meet 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at F-11 Photo (16 E. Main Street). Eleven to fourteen year olds will meet from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Enrollment will be limited to 4-8 kids per session due to limited space and the desire to make this a truly personalized experience for each child.

Students will be required to bring a digital camera with a charged battery and an empty memory card. They will also learn to use the photo kiosks in store for editing and printing. The class fee is $199 and includes free prints each week as well as larger complimentary prints for display purposes. In addition, kids will be able to make several commemorative photo gift items from images taken in class. We will be having a gallery show after the class session, which will correspond to the Bozeman Art Walks.

Pre-registration is required, upon which time further information regarding the class and parental consent forms will be provided. In conjunction with this class, F-11 Photo will be holding special discounts on a few inexpensive kid-friendly camera packages for kids who want or need to have their own camera. Workshop & Class Enrollment Cancellations

When you need to cancel your enrollment in a class or workshop, do it as soon as you can. We make substantial logistical arrangements many months in advance based on your commitment to attend.

Cancellations for Guest Instructed classes or Field workshops

• Within forty-five days of the workshop/class start date, we’ll issue you a full refund.

• Within forty-four to thirty days of the start date, we’ll refund your deposit less 50% of the workshop/class fee.

• Within twenty-nine days or less of the start date, we will be unable to give any refunds.

• F-11 is not responsible for cancellations due to medical emergencies.

Cancellations for in house classes

Full refund for cancellations up to 30 days prior to date of the class.

50% refund for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the date of the class.

50% credit towards another class for cancellations after 7 days prior to date of class.

If F-11 cancels a workshop

Should we cancel a workshop due to minimum enrollment not being met, the payments you have made to F-11 will be refunded in full. You may transfer payments to another workshop if you wish. F-11 is not responsible for refunds of travel or lodging expenses should a workshop be cancelled. F-11 will give a minimum of 30 days notice if a workshop is being cancelled.
